MorningSide Mortuary

A Worldgroup BBS Featuring MajorMUD. MorningSide Mortuary is completely free, and is open to all. I run it as a hobby. Everyone who comes on board gets unlimited time. There is a lot of room for everybody with 256 nodes. This is a good place for you to start your MajorMUD experience. MajorMUD has over 19,000 rooms, and you can adventure with your friends simultaneously in real time. Create parties and explore the massive realms of MajorMUD together. I configured the MajorMUD so that when you enter the game for the first time, you don’t have to give your character a last name. Which I think is pretty cool, since in medieval times, people generally did not have last names. Most boards require you to have a last name in MajorMUD. All players have access to the system map, and the goto functions from the very beginning of their adventures. MorningSide Mortuary is located in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii, and is online 24/7.

I first started to run a bbs in Hawaii in 1991. The programs I used were Silicosis, Vision, Vision-X, RoboBOARD, and finally TheMajorBBS 6.25. I was the only board in Hawaii that ran MajorMUD. I closed the bbs down on April 17, 1999, because boards were going out of style due to the popularity of the emerging internet. When I revived my board in March of 2024, I kept its original name: MorningSide Mortuary. I am running the board on The Major BBS v10 software.
