This is (probably) the first RC2014 based bulletin board system in the world!
“RC-BOX” is a classic 1985 RBBS 4.1 (BDS C code) bulletin board system utilizing a RC2014 (Z80 based) computer kit running the CP/M 2.2 operating system and BYE5 communication program to interface with the outside world. It’s single-user, so the connection will be dropped with a “BUSY” message if someone else is already logged in. In that case, try again a little later.
On the hardware side there is a RC2014 DIY computer kit with an 7 MHz Zilog Z80 CPU, 64 KB RAM, RomWBW ROM module, CF-card module, SIO/2 dual-serial module and WiFi module. This setup makes for a nice, CP/M 2.2 capable Z80 machine that powers the bulletin board system. The picture below shows the actual system you connect to.
